A New Tradition is Born

IMG_7174As I write this title, I realize that I haven’t checked with my friend Katherine if this is indeed going to be a new tradition, but I sure hope it will be!

Last week we headed down to our good friends house for a Charlie Brown Christmas celebration.  For the past two years we have celebrated Charlie Brown Thanksgiving with these same friends and I was over the moon excited when she suggested a Charlie Brown Christmas celebration.  We walked in to find the most beautiful table, complete with Charlie Brown place mats that she found at the recycling center!  She had 4 Charlie Brown Xmas trees for the kids to decorate and had the famous “red ornament” and Linus’ blanket as part of the decoration choices.  The girls went all out with their decorations, Z decided to stick with the actual story and just hung the red ball.

IMG_7171The kids watched the movie all together and enjoyed munching on gingerbread muffins, popcorn and hot cocoa.  Then after the festivities, they played.  It was such a great time with good friends and so nice for me to take a little break, chat and relax with a nice cup of tea.  I am hoping this is a new tradition, it was so much fun!
