I might be a bit crazy but I am signed up for another FREE Virtual Education conference. This one begins the last day of the Unschooling Summit so it means that Friday the 1st will be a bit crazy but I think I am up for it 🙂 The 3rd Annual Waldorf Global Conference is FILLED with some of my favorite people. Kim John Payne (my HERO) author of my BIBLE Simplicity Parenting will be speaking about the Rhythm of Homeschooling. Jollete Jai, who I did my 40 Days to Peaceful Parenting course with, will be talking about communicating with your child. David Sewell McCann from Sparkle Story fame will be talking about using Storytelling and Conflict Resolution in your homeschooling. Janet Allison (whose book I have) will be talking about how to best reach our sons. Sally Fallon, of Nourishing Traditions Fame (LOVE this book!!) will talking about Traditions in the Home. As well as many others, including Donna Ashton, founder of the conference and the Waldorf Connection.
As I said, the conference lasts 3 days and there are numerous speakers each day. Each speakers talk will be up for 24 hours so you can access it if you miss the time of their presentation. It will be 3 jam-packed days and I know I will be forced to pick and choose. Click HERE if you want to sign up for this amazing conference….did I mention it is FREE??
Today my 30 Vegan Workshop begins and the Unschooling Summit starts! I am currently listening to Pat Farenga while folding laundry and so far it is great. Pat Farenga is a writer of many books and articles and an activist in the world of education. He worked very closely with John Holt (the founder of the “Unschooling” movement), who he met while working in a bookstore (Holt use to come into the store often). You can sign up for the Unschooling Summit for FREE, so check it out. The recordings are up for 24 hours after they play, so you don’t have to be home while the call is happening. It should be an educational few weeks for me 🙂
Enjoy the week!
I am so excited about the upcoming Unschooling Summit, and I love their tagline “Embracing the New Education Paradigm”. The conference starts May 21st and the list of speakers continues to grow. We have a little less than a year to figure out where our son will attend first grade and I think this conference will be a wealth of information about the Unschooling approach to homeschooling and the philosophies behind it. As I have said before, I do tend to lean closer to the Unschoolers (otherwise known as Leadership Education or Interest Led) when it comes to homeschooling, especially in the younger grades. I can’t wait to hear from the great panel of experts that they have lined up 🙂 A great way to kick of my summer of school exploration 🙂

First let me start off by saying that this Virtual Conference is FREE! Yes, FREE!!! I participated last year and learned soooo much from the amazing panel of speakers. I am so excited to participate again. They have so many new speakers lined up and a few of my favorites from last year. I will admit that the knowledge you gain can be a bit overwhelming but it is so rich and worth it. Because of last years conference we now drink raw milk, I better understand the differences of males and females and how to better relate with not only my son but my husband, I have embraced peaceful parenting (and am currently taking a course around it), I have limited screen time even more, I have TRIED to give up complaining (and I am more conscience when I do), I make more time for myself…..and that is only the beginning.
The conference is split into three weeks. The first week is the Feed week, the second Play and the third Love. This conference is designed to help inspire you to be the best parent that you can be and the wealth of knowledge and tips you will get is incredible. There are 4 speakers each week so you can pick and choose if you do not have time to listen to each one. Each podcast is also available for 48 hours after the set time for the speaker so you can listen in at your convenience. I often listened after the kids were in bed with a load of laundry to fold, a cup of tea and a notepad to jot down ideas.
